the pop up about downloading security check pops up when I go on wikiHow and a few other websites.
How do I upload a screenshot? I want to share the pop up I found.

hmm, if it comes up on other sites, too, I suspect it’s something on your computer rather than on wikiHow. It’s possible it’s legitimate, but it could also be malware. Have you tried searching for the phrase that’s in the popup window? If it’s malware, you might be able to find a guide on how to remove it.
There is always a different extension asking about the same main thing, “To protect your computer from malware.” This time, the extension is called My Privacy from the web store.
I searched one of the names up but there were only 3 reviews. Two of them said perfect while one of them said that it’s bad and they cannot delete it.
Thanks, how do I post the screenshot I have on wikiHow forums?
I will forward the screenshots to you via e-mail @Anna

, just so you’re aware, there are a lot of “rogue security software” programs that claim that such-and-such program is trying to protect your computer from malware when the program is actually malware itself. It might claim that a safe site (like wikiHow) is malicious, appear to run a “malware check” on your computer and say that there’s malicious software on it (and then try to make you download or buy a software to “remove” it), give you weird popups like the ones you’re getting, redirect you to sites or open programs that you’re not opening on your own, or otherwise make your computer act funny. If it’s trying to force you to download something or purchase something, chances are good you have malware.
Hi, If it helps, whenever I try downloading a movie or song via my phone, the pop up about downing UC Browser comes up. It’s nothing. Just UCs advertisement. This can bring virus to the device. So i close the tab and open another link as I need. I know this pop up is an ad because it comes through web pages that I open. Next, my phone itself has a feature called ad blocker but to use it I have to download an ad blocker fron where they suggest. I cancel it each time it pops up. How I know it’s from my phone? The pop up shows on the settings icon of my device. So I know it’s my phone/ device showing (helpful suggestions ). Know the source on which these pop ups float. If it’s your device settings, then it’s an inbuilt, device proposal. If it shows when you are on a website, it’s the websites advertisement strategy. You may just have to Click Cancel each time. Thanks.
I’ve got Adblock and Norton already but neither of them blocks it. There’s no cancel button, If you press no, it will not let you go on until I close that tab and go on the website again.

You might want to have your computer looked at by a professional to determine if you have malware or other icky things on your computer.
