Here’s a new potential user page redesign: User Page Mock Ups I’d love to know what you think of it! Larger image available here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/63434563@N00/9030742726/ Some open questions to address Would you be interested in seeing and showing off how many people you are helping via your editing? How do you like how it displays the stats on the top of the page? We are imagining you could change which stats you want to show. Here is an example of user changing those options. Mood Board Template Overall thoughts?

Yeah! Looks more attractive and informative. I like it!

Hmm… Is there a way you can hide People you’ve helped? I know some people like to keep some stuff hidden… Also, the graphs throw off the balance of the page.

I must say that the ‘Number of people I’ve helped’ does seem a bit large. A bit overkill. Looks pretty good otherwise.

Interesting elements. Those specific stats are really cool and I like the whole “statistical” concept to it. I’m definitely one of those who like showing off stats. I don’t get the little bars under the written articles, though. I can see that they represent viewership, but could you further explain? I’m also not too keen about the colour scheme, especially how the aforementioned bars are green, and so is the overall mobile site theme (this was taken on the mobile site, right? Overall, I’m interested to see how this plays out!

I agree with the green bars being a confusing element… maybe just the titles, stars, and (smaller) numbers? It’s a huge improvement from just showing the most recent created and thumbs up and am too interested to see how it plays out.

Can’t say I like the text being taken off of the user badges. The redesign as a whole? Eh. Not as bad as iOS 7

I like everything but the “number of people I helped” part. Everything else looks good! This would be on mobile, right?

Thanks for asking Jack… That’s very appreciated. Questions: What is the thinking behind the proposed changes? Why is it/ what is it that you (or wikihaus) is attempting to accomplish with the proposed change? Will this be a mandatory change? or just another option for userpages? What level of customization will be available? Colors? Choice of which stats to highlight? Areas of editing interest (NAB, copyediting, writing new articles, patrolling… etc?)

Hope not… this is wayyyy too much stuff to view on my phone correctly without zooming in and needing to scroll forever:frowning:

I think it’s good

What Lois said, above…why?

That is awesome! Would you be interested in seeing and showing off how many people you are helping via your editing? Maybe… How do you like how it displays the stats on the top of the page? We are imagining you could change which stats you want to show. If we could change the stats, then it’s fab! One question: Would this be available only on mobile or even desktop, etc? This idea would help? : We can change the colors according to our wish…

I hope this. I really like the user pages how they are. I kind of admit, they could look a little more…Professional, but this, personally and honestly, looks like a WikiAnswers “new” user page (they still have the original option, I believe). And the notification thing looks like a cross-between Quotev and AskMeHelpDesk. Just, like I said, my personal opinion. But, there’s no harm in seeing how it actually looks live. I know a few users, who don’t even have the “stats” and “badges” on their profiles. Would there still be an option to not have the typical profile, and just to be creative, or no? (: June Days

Hmm, I in my opinion, it’s a bit too busy. I asked Anson/my bro who’s sitting right nearby, and he says it actually is not bad, but it isn’t really “beautiful” either. *shrugs*

As long as we will still have a quick link to our Talk page from our userpage, as I’m all for the redesign. Things look cool and organized that way; “Fun” should I say…

I think that it looks too much like a blog someone created last night, will be insanely popular for the next month or six, and then will be as old and forgotten as the telegraph. Too much emphasis on look, not enough on utility. Right now, I can have all the links I really like right there, one click away from wherever I am, and here it doesn’t look like we can type anything personal.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming. I don’t have answers to most of the questions asked yet!

It’s definitely a fresh look… The badges not having text on them would make those who are new and have never seen them before confused about what they mean.

The thumbed up edits section only shows the article name and when it was thumbed up, can’t it also display who thumbed up the edit as well as a link to the diff instead of the article?
