Ever since the October 2013 redesign of the main website, that icon has been that large! It was never like that before that redesign.

I think the larger “edit/remove profile” and icon is new at least on some browsers, since I have this screenshot from February of it looking more balanced: http://www.wikihow.com/Image:Edit-user-page-advanced-wikitext.jpg Not a huge deal in the scheme of some other bugs the engineers are squashing since the mobile launch, but def looks funky!
