When I fix a highlighted error in Spell Checker why the green highlight has NOT disappeared? Should it go away or does it stay in?? (sorry I am too lazy to make a screenshot). Before the app. change a highlight used to disappear right after the correction. I am wondering how this new one is working. =)

Spell Checker will not allow you to edit outside the green highlighted area. Thus, that’s probably why it stays green. In order to edit the article, you would click “Quick Edit”.

@SudoKing I am talking ONLY about WITHIN a highlighted word. Previously, the green disappeared right after the correction so we new we made a right one. When green stays in after the correction it makes us unsure whether we made a right one. Again I am talking ONLY about a highlighted word and not around it. I want to comment that a new Spell Checker made edits easier. =))

With anonymous users now able to use the tool, and a few newer contributors, it is apparent the tool isn’t recognizing corrected spelling, some of the attempts to correct spelling results in worse spelling errors than the original. This really isn’t helpful, especially when someone miscorrects half a dozen words, but fixes one, and the choice is to either revert the entire edit, or quickedit to fix a variety of spelling errors the tool should’ve guided the original spell checker with. This just puts the burden of fixing the errors on the patroller, or sending the whole edit down the proverbial toilet, and neither is really a good option.

@BR , you don’t sound very encouraging about the new tool. I agree with you, it SHOULD recognize corrected spelling and give us assurance that we actually did a correct spelling. I guess to accomplish this Spell Checker MUST have a giant database and instantaneously make a logical comparison between a correct and incorrect spelling. I myself click on “not sure” button if I doubt spelling When I want to be 100% sure and not goof I open another browser window and google the word to verify. .
