http://www.wikihow.com/Be-Passive-Aggressive
This is kind of a bad article. It’s not very well-written, and it’s basically a list of tips on how to be a jerk. Should we really be promoting this kind of thing?

I think it’s written fine, and we aren’t really ‘promoting’
it. As our mission ( http://www.wikihow.com/wikiHow:Mission
) states, “We want every wikiHow article to be the single most accurate and most helpful set of instructions on that topic anywhere.” And, that article topic counts as a topic. Hope that clears things up! =)

Yikes, Iz, you don’t think this is NFD|HAT, like it sits? Well, if you allow it to publish, you are promoting it. wH “neutrality,” (like Switzerland’s) is bloviated by comparing what pubs v what is deleted. No, of course wH should not be promoting this crap; prepare for “Be Psychotic,” etc.–hell, why not “Stab People?” Please, justify the diff to (me). hope this clears things up…

It serves another purpose as well. To help those who are having it used against them to recognize it. It is NOT one of those things that jumps right out at you. Trust me, those who are passive aggressive DON’T need to learn how. It’s part of their nature.

I like that, and think it could be edited to reflect it. On top (or, better, correctly titled-- Identify a Passive/Aggressive
, or something?). I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the orig intention, tho… Anyway, I voted to keep; as long as the third tip is left in. Lol.

Ok, it was cute for a day (year), has some truth, etc.; and I trust that it had some impact (?) Artfully done, @CarterChas
(edit: he wasn’t the author, my bad); while I’ve been guilty of similar feelings, I must openly admit that that is the correct characterization–guilt. When my chief complaint is that an article that I never expected to live is deleted by an editor who I feel wasn’t holding their mouth correctly, I have to trust the process. I’d say you have the forums to air your disagreements…and that can become more relevant, too, and the same way. Any garden responds to attention, and if you think the soil is bad, add some more fertilizer :
) So, I deleted the third step http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Be-Passive-Aggressive&diff=7003413&oldid=7000672
as I doubt it’s been left in intentionally; not quite sure why it’s still in there? I would like to see better communication here; this article’s existence, with its 3rd tip, through at least one NFD process, indicates to me, at least, some seizure in this area, please see Anon
, in Village. (How did it survive? are we wikiHowl now? As it sits, wH is essentially pubbing How to Stab People
now? What am I missing?) (ok, ty; I’ll just be over @ wikiHowl if anyone needs me…)
I feel we’re not promoting stabbing, because that goes under the deletion policy as illegal. Being passive aggressive could
possibly go under NFD for mean-spirited, however it isn’t necessarily illegal, like stabbing is.

No, it is slightly more subtle, devious; this makes it ok?

Am I the only one seeing this, in its current form (with it’s tip #3
), as being purely a poke at wH?
It is one of those articles like “How to Be Annoying”…it isn’t the right thing to do, but it has its ways of being beneficial so long as you don’t go overboard. Actually, the article “How to Lie” is very well-written, and teaches a skill that some people probably shouldn’t learn, but might need sometime. This article can be the same way. All it needs is an edit.

Well… … …it strikes me that I’m now parsing…yack, of the baser kind, and sort of losing in a defense of wH, lol. And, I can’t argue with your logic.

But yes, completely ignoring the apparently invisible elephant in the room (that this article artfully points out), that of wH’s becoming a “How to…do all the wrong things,” Teresa’s idea was def a good one. I note that it’s sat there for a year and a half like it is, tho. No hurry. Tra-la!

Ps, this article, w/tip3, is talking to wH, and wH can overcome what it implies (and you know exists)-actually can turn a - to a +. Although I have no idea how.
This article just got an amazing edit! I like the new version of this way better. See? It didn’t have to be deleted.

Develop People Skills as a Passive-Aggressive
. Really? I guess I’m the only one that sees the problem here?

“Down play your annoyance, and if someone asks what’s wrong say, “Nothing, I’m fine!”” And then lie to cover that lie? I keep waiting for someone to chuck me on the arm, let me in on the joke?
