(not sure what to put this in) So I was doing Quality Guardian and I stumbled upon this article: http://www.wikihow.com/Now-if-You-Should-Start-Cutting
While the title is grammatically incorrect, that is obviously not what I am focusing on here. Some of the parts of the article are just plain haunting, like “Are you living a hard life and dont know if you should start cutting?” and “Don’t unless you just can’t take it.” Although, this article could be extremely helpful to troubles teens (kind of like the “How to Run Away From Home”), and if it got cleaned up it could be a quality article, but this topic is really hard to write about and give advice to do such a bad thing. Thoughts?
Right off the bat, nfd|dan because it encourages self-harm, a topic we definitely don’t need. The quality of the article doesn’t matter. Even if the article was cleaned up with grammatically correct sentences, it would still be up for deletion due to the nature of the topic. It’s irrational to make a conscious decision to “start” cutting–people take up self-harm because they see it as an impulse action to escape the pain they feel. They seek the endorphins associated with pain to release emotions. You just can’t think to yourself, “Hey, I think I’m gonna start cutting.”
Hmm, the article is more about trying to avoid
cutting yourself, rather than knowing if you should cut yourself. It looks like a duplicate of Stop Cutting Yourself
?
If there is plenty of valid information about not cutting, then it should probably be merged with Stop Cutting Yourself. Sorry, on my phone.
Author of the article requested for it’s deletion, which has now been done.
