Am I the only one who thinks it would be nice to be able to save drafts of articles you can’t finish at the moment? Multiple times I’ve been in the middle of an article, had to get off for some reason, gotten back on, and found the tab deleted and my input lost. Any support?

We actually do already have a draft feature - are you working with the Article Creator or in the greenhouses? I don’t think those hook into the draft system, but I know for certain Advanced Editor does. You can also place {{inuse}} on a page to let others know it’s undergoing edits, but make sure to remember to edit the page when you do that:stuck_out_tongue:

To further elaborate, you can access your current drafts here:  https://www.wikihow.com/Special:Drafts

You can find a link to your drafts by hovering over My Profile --> My Drafts on the wiki. And, as Alex mentioned, drafts won’t be saved through the greenhouse or through quick edits in Recent Changes Patrol, but other articles that you are writing, or existing articles that you are editing on the article level, can be saved as drafts.

You can also check out  How to Use the My Drafts Feature on wikiHow to learn more! :)

Something I forgot to add that you might also find helpful (I made my earlier comment on my phone, hah) - if your edit isn’t going to be saved as a draft because you’re editing in an area where drafts aren’t supported, try saving what you wrote offsite, like in a Word or Google doc. Copy-pasting saves quite a bit of time:slight_smile:

Maybe… I feel like it takes more time because of having to copy and paste every step individually. I hadn’t noticed the draft feature on advanced editing though. Thanks! The problem being solved, you can close this discussion now.
