Firstly, I’m often in a situation where an editor replaces a sentence with their own sentence. Both sentences would be good in the article, but I am forced to skip it because I don’t know which edit to keep. That’s why I think we should be able to “merge edits”, meaning it would include both edits made by both editors. Second, when I am patrolling a rollback, it shows me the current version and the version before the edit that was rolled back. I think it would be more helpful if it showed the edit that was reverted and the current version.

Presumably a merge edit would have to be manually checked before being saved anyway, because I imagine that the liklihood is that any given merge won’t necessarily read well if automated. Given this, why not just edit it yourself? Not every task need to automated, and some probably are better left not; lest they provide easy avenues for more poor writing to be added to articles.

If I see a time when something is good from both of them, I edit it right then. That is what the EDIT button is for in RC.

This is why we have the “Quick Edit” button. Just press it and work both sentences into the same spot. This is one of the things you learn how to do in the spectrum of beginner patrolling to advanced patrolling. But if you’re not sure which sentence is better, you should definitely skip. You don’t want to incorporate inaccurate information.
I’m not sure I understand; can you take a screenshot next time you come across this scenario, and post it?
This is the view (required) that we have in Standard RC Patrol, Krystle.
@Krystle
Although I am not sure whether wikiRicardo was pointing at this, but I find it annoying as the doesn’t show which edit was rolled back.
^^^Exactly.^^^ How do we know the edit was rolled back faithfully if we can’t even see what the edit was that was rolled back. Someone could get on there and roll back a bunch of good edits and we wouldn’t know to revert it because we can’t see what exactly was rolled back (but obviously we wouldn’t need to question it in this situation since BR did it).
@Krystle
, what if it’s huge chunks, though?
Yup. This is a real problem. And one we are going to try to address with the QG of RC patrol tool that we are still working on. IN that tool, you will hopefully be able to see the actual rollback and confirm if it was good or bad.
Well, I suppose that’s not really a “quick” edit is it? Anyway, consider this. Maybe there could be a way where you can rollback certain sections, but keep others. And maybe at some points you could go in with Quick Edit and do your “merge edit”. And of course, remember that you do have to option to skip if you are not sure, or something.
This thread is interesting to read. I was going to write a thread about this but I got beatten (I don’t care if I spelled it wrong :P). This happens to me. I sometimes rollback it, sometimes I just say Mark For Patrolled and sometimes I skip it.

: it’s generally not appreciated when people leave comments on discussions that do nothing to help the discussion move forward, such as your recent smileys. Jus’ saying.
