There are so any articles I enjoy on Wiki-How. I really want to be able to not forget them. So We need a Favorite option when we read a article we can add it to our favorites. In order to have it stored for us to view any time we like. title edited // SudoKing
You can either: - Add it to your watchlist so you get email notifications whenever that article is edited - Add a “My Favourite Articles” section on your user page and list articles you like (refer to my user page) - Create a wikiHow folder on your browser’s Bookmarks and save articles you like (I think this is the fastest way) - Copy and paste the URLs and save it on a text document on your computer
I think this is a good idea.
Which is not what is being discussed.
Which is more work than an “add article to favourites” button.
Hamsters made a good suggestion for a future wikiHow software feature, and you respond with a basic computer literacy lesson. This is not helpful. (And if you use wikiHow from more than one computer or device, as pretty much everyone here does
, you have the problem of synchronising them between devices.)
^ I agree. I think it’s a very good suggestion from hamsters, I would definitely support this feature.
Despite the poor phrasing of this proposal, it might be worth my support.
I’m glad that there are newer wikiHowians that are brave enough to propose a new idea for wikiHow! While a favorites list would be a nice addition to wikiHow, we need to remember is that wikiHow is almost nothing like most of our other competitors in terms of recourses. wikiHow is equipped with a very small staff who have to do everything to keep the website working, and since this problem can easily be solved with a variety of other solutions, such as having a favorite articles section on your userpage, the wikiHaus (wikiHow staff) do not have much leftover time to do the non-essential stuff.
Support this idea.
I am sure that only a very small percent of our readers/editors are aware of this.
Then more of them should be aware.
But Would people rather do all that or just click “add to favorites”?

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. Sure, there are a bunch of annoying and time consuming ways of doing this already, but has anyone considered the other potential benefits of this? If we did this right, this could actually be a great way to entice people to create accounts and start editing. A lot of websites that have people create accounts do so so people can store lists of their favourite articles or videos or whatever it is the site works with. If we tell readers that they can store their favourite articles if they create an account, it gives them a reason to do so. Once they’ve created an account they’ll be welcomed, and some of them may then start editing.
^ fine point caidoz. One of my favorite YouTube features for example is the ability to favorite a video.
Well you know me mets, I love doing computer work when I can just click add favorite. LOL.
