Welcome to the wikiHaus Lab update for July 1st!
This is a slightly different update, because as you likely know, we held the 2021 wikiHow Meetup over the weekend. Other than having lots of fun, we covered lots of good stuff, from the State of the Wiki presentation by Elizabeth, to presentations from the wikiVisual team and the Data team.
If you weren’t able to attend and would like to check out the recordings from the three presentations, please just send me an email ( jayne@wikihow.com
) and I can send you a link to view them.
And that’s what’s new this week!

Jayne, I’m confused about the four seemingly random emoji at the bottom of your post. Is it supposed to look like this, and I’m just not understanding the intended meaning, or is there a display issue on my side? Screenshot:

Nah, it’s the same way on my end:
Thanks for the reminder Jayne, I’d been meaning to ask you where I could find the recordings since I missed out one some of it do to disconnections on my end.

Since this week’s wikiHaus Lab is just the meetup recordings, shouldn’t we be calling it the wikiHaus Cinema instead?
I’d say wikiHaus Darkroom to match the “development” theme, but I have no idea whether you develop video reels in a darkroom.

Thank you Jayne for holding the fort at the meetup. You were very kind and made the experience enjoyable for all of us. Thanks for cheering us up during the games. You considered our answers and at times gave us all the benefit when we came close to the answer. It was a joy to be a part of the virtual meetup hosted by you.
I absolutely enjoyed learning from ChrisH, ChrisR, Elizabeth, Babeth, AJ, and all those who spoke to us from the wikiVisual team and the Data team. I wanted to see Reuben and his team who help us whenever we have technical issues. Thanks Reuben et al. I missed Jack Herrick. I hope to see the full house may be next time. Thanks for making volunteering so meaningful for us.
to all the community friends. I hope more of you join next year and we have a blast.
