Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s new for June 17th:

:rocket: You may have noticed:The “wikiHow to Meme” game pre-order is here! However, don’t order it just yet, because we’ll have a special discount available for wikiHowians that we will announce at the meetup! If you want to check the game out in the meantime, you can find the details here: https://wikihow.shopping/

:rocket: What’s happening? We’re looking into some design tweaks for the homepage. Coming up you may notice some minor changes or additions to the main page. To start with it will only be on 5% of page loads, so it might be a bit of a treasure hunt! The changes are experimental and the team will be keeping an eye on whether they’re beneficial. Feel free to give me any feedback if you like (or don’t like!) any changes:slight_smile:

What to look for:On desktop: topic tiles where you can click directly to go to categories, courses, and tech help.

On mobile/small screens: Carousels for featured articles where you can scroll through different articles to view.

:rocket: What’s happening? We’re launching a free relationships newsletter, where you can get tips and advice about relationships. If you’re interested, you can sign up here .

:rocket: What’s happening? The meetup is coming up on June 26th! Keep an eye out for more details in your inbox next week if you have RSVPd.

I kind of want to know who wrote the blurbs at the bottom of the card game’s page, because I’m rather impressed by the sass.

Hmm, looks very interesting! I can’t wait to get the meme card game! Will there be a page on playing this game? I see there’s a YT video but I’m assuming someone’s going to write an article about it…

@anon74718567 Ahaha, I gotta say, it does make it somewhat more appealing but it is rather novel for someone to phrase it that way.

It’s a fitting response to trolls:slight_smile:Congratulations on this project.

Spotted in the wild! Not that I was furiously reloading the page or anything…:grimacing:

That game looks intriguing for sure! Part of me hopes to see one of the wacky dog breed identification drawings in there… I know of quite a few. Kinda doubt any will pop up, but ya never know!:stuck_out_tongue:

Looking forward to the meetup! Huge thanks to everyone who’s been part of the organization and planning processes up to this point. So far, my schedule’s still looking free, so I hope I can make it for the full length this time around!

I can’t find the game on Jayne’s image?? I can see the boxes. That’s different.

You get 62 messages on an average day! That’s a lot.

What’s this WikiHaus Lab? I don’t understand.

The wikiHaus Lab is a thread to keep volunteers up-to-date on what staff is doing - like announcements, new sitewide tests or features, or upcoming changes and/or events. Basically to make sure we know what’s going on at wikiHow’s office, a.k.a. the wikiHaus.

Something called ‘Featured Topics’ is also popping up for me every now and then! I was wondering what it is and Jayne just told everyone about it here!:grinning:

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the meetup…:frowning_face:What’s gonna happen in it?

Hey @JayneG , in your screenshot, in the tiny little corner, I can see that you’ve got 62 messages!:astonished:Not 10, not 20, not 30, not 40, not 50, not 60, but 62! How do you reply to so many messages? I get mad if I get more than a few ones and need to reply to them. And 62?!! Oh my god! That’s huge!

Haha, you’ve all got eagle eyes! I think that number was from more than one day - but that’s what I’m here for! I love reading and replying to messages from newbies and experienced wikiHowians alike:slight_smile::writing_hand:

Oh… I thought it was in only one day. Yes, I know that’s what you’re here for but still!! You will need to love reading and replying to messages or at least, like it. Or you wouldn’t be able to handle so much. Great job!:clap:
