Welcome to the latest wikiHaus Lab update! Here’s what’s happening for March 30th:

:rocket: What’s happening?Showcasing Relationship Articles. You may see a change on the home page coming up! We’re looking to feature some relationship articles because this is a really popular category for us.

The relationships section will also link to the new Relationships Hub that was launched recently. You’ll see that it’s using the new color palette that was first introduced on a group of relationship articles and has some additional features from standard category pages.

One of the main goals for this page is to showcase all of the great relationship content we have on the site. Along with some of our popular articles, we have links to our relationship-based courses, new expert-reviewed quizzes focused on sexual identity, a signup for the relationship newsletter, and a section featuring some of our relationship experts.

This hub gives us the opportunity to try out a dedicated site experience for one of our most popular categories, as well as test out more interactive content to see what our readers enjoy. It’s intended to help our readers discover relevant content more easily when they know what area they are interested, but are not sure which specific questions to ask. This is the first time that our readers can see and explore everything we have to offer for a particular category in one place, so it’ll be great to see if people enjoy the more cohesive layout and what content they gravitate towards.

If you have any ideas of features or new sections we could add to the relationship hub page, please let us know below!

:rocket: What’s happening?Table of Contents format test. The team is testing having the table of contents read across the page, rather than down the side of the introduction. Research shows that English readers like to read from left to right, so having the table of contents read across the page means it’s in a more natural reading position. This could make it easier for the reader to establish whether the article will be helpful at a glance. You can check out the test on this article: How to Play Candy Crush Saga (with Pictures) - wikiHow

:rocket: Update:The ‘comment’ option has been removed from list articles. Although this feature wasn’t completely built out, initial data showed that interest was not very high, and it had some challenges being connected to steps. However, the ‘like’ feature is going well and is sticking around:+1:

Woah, I just gave it a try on the Relationship Hub, and it was a pretty good shock to me! Kudos for that!I also like the horizontal Table of Contents on the mobile site. It used to be that the mobile site does not even have a Table of Contents (not even the vertical one), and this horizontal one is so helpful!

I’m not a huge fan of the new Table of Contents. Right now, it just looks like three links slapped right next to each other, and it isn’t very appealing to the eye. I can see how this might be easier to read, but maybe make it more visible so that readers know that “hey, this is the table of contents” without thinking for a second or two. The current one does a much better job at that.

Hi Jayne,

Wow the relationships category is going places and doing really well. Well done to the team working on making it work!

I liked the table of content horizontal also. It looks cute. However, may be it can say in a heading that it is the table of content.

As an addition to the relationship site, may be a section with a multiple choice test that in the end gives the score on the readers character, would be nice. If the article is about Being a good partner, then the test/ survey could be a set of questions that offers options they would choose from depending upon what would they do in that scenario. In the end, their score could tell what kind of a partner they make.
