I got a thumbs up last night (not that I’m not grateful
) and the banner will not go away. I clicked the X, but it comes back on the next page. Sorry if I messed it up and didn’t do it correctly…

@Krystle
- this was the thumbs up glitch I had not that long ago, that I mentioned in IRC about. Is it back again?
This happens to me too! It’s SO annoying!
It would be helpful to make a screencast - which you can use http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/
to record when it happens again. Upload it to their site and post the link here.
That happens to me too! It’s nice to get a thumbs-up, just not nice to have a banner guarding you every hour of the day.

If it happens, then record your screen
@Maluniu
, All it is, is the thumbs up banner. It doesn’t look any different. Once you click X, it goes away. But, it comes back when you refresh the page or go to another wikiHow page. It used to not do that for me, but now I have a new thumbs up and it started doing it. This is a serious problem. I don’t think it’s ever going to go away unless it’s manually fixed.

If you re-read my very first reply in this thread, you’ll notice that I had this glitch myself & Krystle and I talked about it in the past - hence why I’m assisting and would know all about it. This can only be fixed by the engineers, whom are unavailable on the weekends. But as I see it, different people are pouring into this thread & it seems like I have to re-quote myself to post a screen record, which by the way, no one has done so yet.
@Maluniu
I haven’t had access to my computer for a couple of days…I’ll try to upload a screen recording tonight.
And now it goes away, that’s odd.
Right. Just when you actually want it to stay, it actually does what you want it to?!?
Pretty much. And, yes, I’m serious.
Lucky. Two days later… it’s still stalking me.
I have the screen shot. Where do I send it?

It’s encouraged to make a screen recording instead of providing a regular screenshot because then the engineers can see what’s happening from start to finish as it actually happens. Screenshots are usually for notices or static “images”.

Maluniu is right, a screencast really helps here! First, though, try clearing your cache: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser’s-Cache
Here are instructions I wrote up on how you can record your screen: http://www.wikihow.com/Record-a-Screencast-with-Screencast-O-Matic
You can use my account to upload a screencast. Login, krystle@wikihow.com
password, omgwikihow What I will want to see is for you to go to wikiHow and show me the thumbs up banner. Then “x” to close it and go to other pages on wikiHow, showing me that it keeps stalking you
