A week or so ago, I enjoyed using wikiSearch to do activities such as adding related wikiHows do dead end pages. Recently, it seems to have taken an upgrade, one that may be in testing, I’m not sure, but… it’s a downgrade from the original search. The bubbled entries are distracting, and a lot of times the Categories are getting included in the search, even though they have nothing to do with the topic I’m searching for. I discovered that I could use Mediawiki Search to get it back to a format that I preferred, but sometimes it would link me directly to the topic (e.g. Exercise ). Other times, when I clicked Next, it would revert back to this new Search, and it’s disappointing. Is there any way to get the old wikiSearch back? It was a lot easier to navigate through without all these distractions: text, images, etcetera.

Not that I’m aware of. Generally, updates are pretty standard, I believe, but I could be mistaken.

This might be just me, but I have never felt any trouble with the new Search and the search results seem to be same (at least for a few keywords). You could also try Google Search extension which is the default search used by anonymous users. Special: Dead End Pages can also come in handy to add related wikiHows to articles (which you probably are aware of). Anyways good luck…

@Primus Bummer that you’re not digging the new search results:frowning:Another thing you can try is searching Google with the filter site:wikiHow.com

Are we still able to do Mediawiki searches?

@Davecrosby At the bottom of the search results, there is a link to the MediaWiki search, I believe…

Nice, thanks. Only the one page worth, but still very useful.
