To perform a one-card tarot reading, think of an open-ended question, like, "What do I need to be careful of today?" or "What am I being called to receive today?" and hold that question in your mind. Draw a card from your shuffled tarot deck and let your mind interpret the card's imagery and meaning. Trust your instincts. Your first impression is usually the best answer.

When I do a one-card tarot reading for someone, I talk to the deck itself and set its energy by saying that person's name a few times to the deck. I ask for information from that person and for that person. And then I read that one card like I’m reading a comic. There's information in the imagery and I'm looking for what stands out to me so I can tell the story of that imagery.
I could pull that card for a lot of different people, but what stands out to me and what pulls my attention is going to be different for each and every person. The story in that image might change. When you interpret the card, it's really the spirit communicating with you through images.
