Ideas for things to do at a sleepover?
My friends are sleeping over at my place this weekend and we need something to do! I already have movies and some games, but what else can we do to have a really fun night?
There are so many fun things you can do! Pick a few activities based on your friends' personalities. Here are some ideas:
1. Play video games
2. Have a spa night and paint your nails, do face masks, etc.
3. Play truth or dare or would you rather
4. Make friendship bracelets
5. Plan a scavenger hunt
6. Tell scary stories
7. Give each other makeovers
8. Do indoor (or outdoor!) camping or glamping
9. Put on a fashion show
10. Do a science experiment or make slime
11. Learn and film a TikTok dance
12. Star-gaze or watch the sunset (or sunrise, if you're still up)
13. Just hang out and chat
14. Go swimming or hot tubbing (if you have a pool or hot tub)
15. Go roller skating or skateboarding
16. Walk around your neighborhood
17. Pull pranks or make prank phone calls (just don't get in trouble or do anything mean/dangerous!)
18. Have a photo shoot

I really like choosing games where everybody can have fun regardless of whether they’re actually good at the game or not. Cornhole (aka bags) is a really enjoyable and simple game that anybody can play. I also think stuff like tug of war or three-legged races are really entertaining. Even if someone isn’t particularly good at those games, it’s still funny to mess up and share a laugh.
Is there something all of you enjoy? If so, I might try to incorporate that into the games you play. For example, if you’re all super in Taylor Swift’s music you could do a little karaoke game and award prizes for whoever does the best rendition of a song. Or, if all of you are huge Harry Potter
fans, you could have a little Sorting Hat party. Have your Sorting Hat and a chair ready to go. Let everyone sit on the chair and have the Sorting Hat sort them by choosing which house makes the most sense based on their personality. Then, you could have a big feast to celebrate everyone in all of their houses.
we like to do tarot readings at my friends parties. one of my friends also has a ouija board and we've played with that a couple of times, but some of us get scared of that so we don't do it that much!! usually we watch movies and have a movie marathon like if you want to do the sorting hat game you could watch all of the harry potter movies and the fantastic beasts movies and make food from the movies like butter beer or pumpkin pasties.
My girls always love to make their own snacks and will do slumber parties centered around different treats like pizza or cookies. We did an ice cream night a few weeks ago where everyone brought their favorite toppings. In nice weather we have "s'more-met" night ("gourmet" + "s'mores") and we get a bunch of varieties of fancy chocolate, fancy cookies, and marshmallows and a bunch of toppings and roast s'mores in the backyard. And, of course, there's always a fun movie. We usually come up with a list of 10 or so movies and vote on which one we want to watch or the girls take turns picking. Always a blast! :)
That one poster mentioned making your own snacks, which is funny because I always like to have baking challenges. Me and my friends all bake something yummy ahead of time and then everyone brings what they made to share. We’ll watch movies or play board games and just go to town on all the delicious stuff we made.
My friends and I are crafty folk so we like to have craft slumber parties! we've had a crochet party, a papier mache party, a Halloween costume-making party... It's just super fun to sit around and do something artsy, and even if you've never done the craft before, it's with friends so you don't feel any judgment. It's also nice for my shy friends who want to hang out but like a task to focus on. Fun way to be together but be doing our own thing, but without just like, zoning out and watching tV the whole time (but we also do that harhar)
Play truth or dare. You can never go wrong with that!

Have a bakeoff. Split your friends evenly into two teams and have a baking competition. Make three people be judges: blindfold them and get them to taste both dishes and decide which is best.
Remember that everyone has different tastes in entertainment/activities. Make sure you have a variety of options in the context of activities and try to do something everyone will enjoy.

One fun activity you can do together is building a fort. Get lots of pillows and blankets. Find two pieces of sturdy furniture and drape your blanket over it. This works best if the blanket is big and thin. Then get some heavy books to weigh it down. If you find a way to extend it with more furniture, you can make your fort bigger. To make the inside of your fort cozy, add pillows, blankets, and even stuffed animals.
If you are on your own, just listen to music, dance around and watch movies and other fun things! Don't forget to have nice, sweet foods and drinks! Remember you don't need to have someone with you when you are having a sleepover! Maybe you could pretend your friends are there. Imagination is the key!
You can do the whisper challenge. To play this, one of you puts earphones on and listens to music loud enough that you can't hear anything the other person says (the music shouldn't be loud enough to damage your hearing). They say a sentence quietly and you have to guess what they're saying.
