I’ve coached groups of men trying to get better at dating, and personally, I think pickup lines usually come off as trying too hard. Humor works best when it’s natural—like something you notice in the moment or something she said that you build on. For example, I find that asking a question is effective—it gets the other person talking, and then you can riff off their response.
