Open Google Calendar and open the main menu (side pane). Make sure the "Birthdays" checkbox is checked. Birthdays are automatically synced from your contacts, so edit the person's birthday in your contacts to alter it on the calendar.

Adding Your Contacts

Go to calendar.google.com . If you're not logged in, do so now. You can use a web browser as well as the app to follow these steps.

Click or tap ☰ if the side menu isn't visible. If you already see your calendar options on the left side of the page, skip this step.

Click or tap the box next to Birthdays . This will be under the "My calendars" header. Additionally, any new contacts you add for whom you include a birthday will also be automatically added to your calendar.
- If you don't have your contacts' birthdays added, they won't show up in your calendar. You can do that by following these steps:
- Go to contacts.google.com or open the Google Contacts app.

- Enter the contact's birthday in the month, date, and year dropdown. These dropdowns will be next to an icon of a birthday cake.

1Go to calendar.google.com . If you're not logged in, do so now. You can use a web browser as well as the app to follow these steps.

2Click or tap the + Create button. You'll find this either in the top left corner of your web browser or in the lower right corner of your phone or tablet screen.
- You can also tap the date on which you want to add the event. If the birthday you want to add is on May 23, you can tap May 23 to get the "Add Event" window.

3Click or tap Event . This will bring up a pop-up to create a new event.

Click More options (web only). You'll see this at the bottom of the "Add Event" window, and it will load the event creation in a new window.
- You don't need to do this on the mobile app because the options you need are already available.

Add a name for your event. You'll want to name the birthday so you can easily recognize it.

Click to check the box or tap to toggle the switch next to "All day. " This will change the event to one that lasts all day instead of a set time. If you want to set a specific time, you can do that instead.

Click or tap Does not repeat . Change this to Annually (web) or Every year (mobile). This makes the event pop up every year on the same date. [3] X Research source

Add other event information (if you want to). You can add a location, people, and change the color of the event.
- You can use the "Notification" area to change the timing of the notifications you get about the event.

Click or tap Save . You'll see this in the upper right corner of your web browser and screen.
