We all love that Egyptian or Greek goddess smokey eye makeup look. It makes your eyes look bold and makes it stand out. Whether for a Halloween costume or just a dramatic makeup effect, with a little practice, you can achieve that look.

  1. Use an eyebrow with a small strokes, rather than drawing in a full stroke. It gives you a more natural and full look.

  3. Put concealer on the top and bottom of your eyebrow and blend it with concealer brush to give it a clean look.
  4. Put concealer on top of it.
  5. This will give you clean and sharp eye shadow line.
  6. Start at the top of your eyeball and go to end of the eyelid.
  7. Use smudge brush to blend the black eyeliner and blue eyeshadow together. You can apply your own choice of eye shadow.
  8. Blend it with the previous shadow with medium eyeshadow brush. Blend both eye shadows with large eye shadow brush so there is no sharp line and it gives a more smokey effect to your eyes.
  9. This will make your eyes look more awake and give your shadow a dimensional look.
  10. Make the end a little longer, which will make your eyes look bold.
  11. End the water line with black eyeliner. Don't connect it with top eyeliner but run parallel to that top eyeliner line, leaving a little space in between both lines.
  12. Give it 2 or 3 presses.
  13. You can chose between thick or natural shape. Glue them with your eye lash. This step is optional, only if you want to get the bold look.
  14. You are all done!

  • Question

    Community Answer
use bright blue eyeshadow and a subtle turquoise under the brow. Extend the line of your eyeliner and use false eyelashes.
  • Question
What are the best products to use for eyeliner and eye shadow?
    Community Answer
For eyeliner, try a nice liquid/gel eyeliner. This can be bought at a drugstore or beauty store, but your skin will react differently to various brands, so you'll have to try out different brands and find the one that works for you. Don't go crazy though - I wouldn't recommend spending any more than $10. For eye shadow, again, you can try out various, cheap brands at different drug or beauty supply stores. If you want to use glitter shadow, it's also sold at the dollar/beauty store, but make sure that it is cosmetic grade glitter.
  • Question
What is this makeup called besides Egyptian eye makeup?
    Community Answer
Besides Egyptian eye makeup, it can also be called Cat Eye.

      Tips

      • Try to keep your brows as natural as possible. Egyptian women had very striking and bold brows that were usually unruly, so let your undone brows shine!
      • To get a better result from eyelash curler, put it under your hair blow dryer for few seconds and it will give a curled lashes then usual.
      • If you don't have eye primer, you can use concealer instead.
