Is there someone on YouTube that you don't want to interact with? Sadly, there's no "Block" option that universally blocks users for you, but you can "Hide a user from your channel" instead, which is very similar. However, you also have the option to block a user in a live chat so you don't see their messages anymore. This wikiHow article teaches you how to block someone on YouTube in a Live stream as a viewer and a creator, as well as from your channel.

Can You Block Someone from YouTube?

You can block someone in a live chat, but their content will still be shown to you outside of the Live. If you want to prevent someone from seeing your videos, commenting on them, or interacting with you, you can hide them from your channel.

    Sign into YouTube Studio or Live Control Room. Use this method if you're hosting a Live video and want to block someone in the chat.
    • If you have a video that's set to premier at a specific time, you can moderate and limit the live chat. You can also moderate the chat on a Live video in the Live Control Room, which you see if you tap Edit as you're streaming.

    On a computer, you'll see a section on your dashboard titled "Recent Comments," but you can click the "Comments" link in the menu on the left side to see more comments.

    Although that user will remain on your subscriber list, anyone who views your channel will not see the comments that this user leaves.

    • Hiding a user will not send them a notification.
