How to Catch Groudon Without Using a Master Ball

Groudon is a legendary Pokémon from the third generation. You only get one Master Ball in the game, so this article will teach you how to save you Master Ball for another Pokémon.

  1. These can be obtained from Rustboro City Poke Mart.
  2. Have at least level 35 to 45 Pokémon, preferably with high hit points.

  3. Wander your way to Groudon (Level 45) and your Red Orb will start to glow. This will cause Groudon to walk toward you.
  4. Send out a Flying-type first and stall the Groudon. The Timer Balls' catch rate doesn't go up if the Pokémon is weak, just if a lot of turns have been taken, so the more you stall, the better chance you have at catching it.

  3. Start battle.
    • His standard moveset = Earthquake, Fire Blast, Solarbeam, Slash.

    This strategy should work with any Legendary Pokemon, so I would say yes, but make sure that you take type matchups into account, as Kyogre and Groudon are different types.
