Changing the Time & Date on a Casio Watch

To change the time and date on a Casio digital watch, press the "Adjust" button, then the "Mode" button, and then use the buttons on the right side of the watch to change the time displayed. For an analog and digital watch, enter Timekeeping Mode, then press the upper left button to flash and change the time.

  1. Press the "Adjust" button on your watch to cycle through available Modes until the time starts flashing.
    • The "Adjust" button is usually on the top left corner. [1]
    • Some models, like 5691, require an additional button press here. Press and hold the button on the top left corner for at least two seconds or until the name of your current Home City appears on the display. You can find your watch's instruction number, or model number, on the back face; it's usually 3-4 digits.
    • You may be able to use your phone to adjust the date and time. Refer to your manual to see if this is an option!

    Press the "Mode" button to cycle through settings. You will scroll through the following list in order, then return to the top of the list.
    • Home City (some models)
    • Summer time (some models)
    • Seconds
    • Hours
    • Minutes
    • Year
    • Month
    • Day
    • 12/24-hour format
    • Date display format
    • Day of the week language (some models)
    • Operation tone enable/disable (some models)
    • Illumination duration (some models)
    • Auto adjust (some models)
    • Power Saving (some models)

    Use the buttons on the right to change the setting. There are two buttons on the right side that you can use to change the year, month, or day.
    • If you need to change more than one setting, repeat the previous step to choose another setting.

    Press the "Adjust" button again to confirm your changes. Doing this will save your settings and exit Timekeeping Mode.

Changing the Date on a Casio Analog-Digital Watch

    Press and hold the button in the lower left corner to enter Timekeeping Mode. You should only need to hold the button for a second.

    Press and hold the upper left button until the seconds start to flash. The digits in the "seconds" area will begin to flash on the digital display when the date/time is changeable.

    Change the time and date displayed. Use the lower right button to change seconds.
    • The lower left button will switch to the "DST" setting, which is an hour behind (think: fall back, DST; spring ahead, ST). After pressing the lower left button, then press the lower right button to enable or disable DST.
    • Press the lower left button again to change to the hour. Use the top and bottom buttons on the right to change it.
      • The upper button increases the hour.
      • The lower button decreases the hour.
      • If you have a 12-hour format selected, you'll see a "P" indicating the hours of P.M.
    • Press the lower left button again to change to the minutes. Use the top and bottom buttons to change the minutes.
      • The upper button increases the minutes.
      • The lower button decreases the minutes.
    • Press the lower left button again to change to the year. Use the top and bottom buttons on the right side to change it.
      • The upper button goes forward a year.
      • The lower button goes back a year.
        • You can set a Casio watch between 2000 and 2099. When the year, month, and day are entered, the day of the week will be calculated automatically.
    • Press the lower left button again to change to the month. Use the top and bottom buttons on the right side of the watch to change the settings.
      • The upper right button goes forward a month.
      • The lower button goes back a month.
    • Press the lower left button again to change to the day. Use the top and bottom buttons on the right side to change this.
      • The upper button goes forward a day.
      • The lower button goes back a day.

    Press the upper-left button to save your changes. Doing this will complete the process.
    • If the analog hands aren't correct, go into Hand Setting Mode (press the lower left button after entering Timekeeper Mode to cycle through), then hold down the upper-left button until the digital time starts to blink.
    • Press the lower right button to set the hour and minute hands.
      • Each time you press, the hands will advance by 20 seconds.
      • The hands will move at the same time.
      • Make them move continuously by pressing the upper right button while holding down the lower right button. Pressing any button will make them stop moving.
    • Press the upper left button to finish and exit Hand Setting Mode. [2]

  1. It's the small knob on the side of your watch. The crown usually has two positions:
    • First position changes the date.
    • Second position changes the time.

    Set the date. With the crown pulled to the first position, you can rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise to change the date.

  1. You should only have to hold this button down for 2 seconds.
    • Resetting a watch will also erase any personalized settings, including the alarms and timers.
    • Doing this can clear your watch of technical glitches that prevent it from working, but it is also a great step before you give the watch away.

    Press and hold the top left button until "SET" stops flashing. You should only need to hold this button down for about 2 seconds.

    Press the lower left button. The seconds will flash.

    Press the center button for at least 5 seconds. "RESET ALL" will stop flashing.
