Want to stop Instagram from suggesting users, hashtags, and locations you've searched for in the past? Instagram automatically displays your search history each time you open the search tool, but you can easily delete the items you don't want to see. This wikiHow article will teach you simple ways to clear your Instagram search history on an Android, iPhone, iPad, or computer. Just keep in mind there's no way to disable all search suggestions—Instagram will still suggest content you might be interested in when you start typing into the search bar.

Things You Should Know

  • To clear searches in the mobile app, tap the magnifying glass, tap the search bar, then go to See All > Clear All > Clear all .
  • You can also delete individual searches from Accounts Center in your Settings, but you won't be able to clear your entire history there.
  • If you're using a computer, click Search , and select Clear all > Clear all .

    If you want to delete your entire search history, tap on this button in the top right corner. A confirmation message will appear.
