Section 2 of 6:
-
1Equip your diving gear. If you don’t already have Basic Diving Gear, you can purchase some Advanced Diving Gear at the red buoy for 15,000C$.
- It is quite dark at the bottom of the deep. In order to see, it is recommended that you turn up your brightness settings on your monitor and in the Settings menu in the game so that you can see.
-
2Swim straight down. The entrance to the Desolate Deep is straight down below the red buoy. When you reach the bottom, you will find a sign and a passage to the left and to the right.
- Warning: Beware of mines. The Desolate Deep is filled with naval mines that will kill you when you make contact with them.
-
3Take the passageway to the left. If you take the passageway on the left, you’ll come to a merchant that sells flippers, super flippers, Advanced Diving Gear (if you missed it), crab cages, and a Reinforced Rod, which you will need to fish in the Brine Pool.
- The Reinforced Rod costs 20,000C$.
-
4Take the passageway on the right. If you went left first, return the way you came until you get back the sign. The right is the way you want to go. This is where you can get the Desolate Pocket and the Brine Pool. Again, watch out for mines along the way.
-
5Locate the Desolate Pocket. When you follow the passageway on the right, you will eventually reach the Desolate Pocket. This is a large open area with a cave island in the middle. Here you can do some fishing, There is also a merchant, an innkeeper, and a guy holding a lantern. [1] X Research source
- Items the merchant has for sale include: crab cages, a conception conch, basic diving gear, flippers, a tidebreaker, a coral geode, and a glider, which you will need to get to the Brine Pool.
- If you plan on getting all the fish in Desolate Deep, it is recommended that you set the Desolate Deep as your spawn point with the innkeeper.
- If you want to leave Desolate Deep quickly, there is a mirror on the upper-floor of the island in the middle of Desolate Pocket. This will teleport you back to Sunstone Island.

Getting to the Brine Pool
-
1Purchase the glider. You can purchase the glider from the merchant on the island in the middle of the Desolate Pocket for C$900.
-
2Find the NPC with the lantern. He is standing on the island in the middle of the Desolate Pocket. The lantern is pointing in the direction of the rocks you need to climb to get to the Brine Pool.
-
3Cross to the rocks on the other side. You can swim straight across in the direction the NPC is pointing his lantern. Cross the pond to the rocks along the wall on the other side.
-
4Climb to the top of the rocks. There is a winding pathway on the other side where the rocks are. Follow the pathway until you reach a wooden plank connecting two ledges at the top. Cross the wooden plank to the ledge on the other side.
-
5Use the glider to reach the next ledge. Once you reach the ledge that the wooden plank leads to, equip the glider and use it to continue straight. Glide along the edge of the rocks until you reach another platform a little ways further down the side of the wall.
-
6Climb to the cave at the top of the ledges. Once you reach the platforms with the glider, continue climbing the rocks until you find a small cave.
-
7Follow the cave to the Brine Pool. The Brine Pool is a large open area at the end of the cave with glowing green water. You will need the Reinforced Rod to fish here.
