Stop Windows 10 from automatically updating your apps and OS

Turn Off Auto Update in Windows 10

Disabling Automatic App Updates

1Open the Microsoft Store. Click on the Start menu and type "microsoft store" into the search bar. Click Microsoft Store in the search results.

- Apps you've installed from other locations will not be affected.

Disabling Windows System Updates

1Open your Settings. Click the Start menu, and then click the cog icon. The Settings window will open.
- While you can't permanently disable system updates , you can pause them for a certain amount of time. This is helpful if you need to use your device and don't have time to update it.

6Resume updates (optional). If you need to undo the pause, open the Windows Update page again, and then click Resume updates at the top.

Deleting Microsoft Store Apps

- If you keep receiving automatic updates, you can uninstall the app instead.
