  1. It's being tested. Currently, a small group of accounts can test linking Chime to EarnIn. Since Chime allows early paychecks (2 days in advance of a scheduled payday), EarnIn has been unable to support all Chime users fully. [1]

Check if you can add Chime as a bank account. When you change or add a bank account, you will most likely see "Chime" in the list of available banking accounts. However, only a few EarnIn users will be able to connect Chime. An error message will pop up if you aren't part of the test group to use Chime with EarnIn. If you are able to link your accounts, you won't encounter an error message.
    • Note that if you link your Chime account, you also need to turn on Allow Transactions in your Chime settings so EarnIn can send transfers and payday deposits to it.
  2. 2
Turn on "Allow transactions" in Chime. You need to enable this option in Chime so EarnIn can make deposits to your account.
    • To turn on transactions from the website, go to Settings > Account Settings > tap the toggle next to "Allow transactions" so the switch is on. [2]

Make sure the names on both accounts are identical. You'll have trouble trying to link a Chime and EarnIn account if the names are different. For example, a Chime account for John F Doe will have trouble connecting to an EarnIn account with the name John Doe. [4]
  2. 2
Incorrect setup may cause the link to fail if your account is eligible. In other words, if you don't turn on Allow transactions in Chime, your EarnIn account won't be able to transfer or access your Chime account properly, resulting in a disconnection. [5]
  3. 3
EarnIn does not work with prepaid cards and savings accounts. A linked checking account is required. EarnIn is not compatible with SSI, disability pay, unemployment wages, or veterans' benefits.
