Fashion designers have a unique way of drawing. Their models are simple and elegant with most of the detail going into the clothing. Whether it’s for a specific job or just for fun, drawing like a designer can lead to some gorgeous artwork.

Let your imagination go wild.Just try put a picture on to your mind first and then try drawing it!
Designing is really fun. But too much embellishment is just too much. It's easy to get carried away, even the simplest outfits are the coolest.
Getting inspiration is great and helps a lot, but make something you would wear. Draw a similar outfit, but make it more you. Have fun, it's all yours.

How can I collect designs for dresses?

Cut out magazine photos of the dresses you would like to make, or print pictures of them in different styles, colors, lengths, and fabrics from the internet. Fabric stores carry a wide range of sewing patterns too.

How do I erase out the inner lines without erasing the dress lines?

Make the inner lines very light and the dress lines really dark. Erase lightly, and touch up the dress when you're done. If you're working on a computer, do the dress lines in a separate layer from the inner lines.

Think hard about what colors to use. Just choose two-four for the whole outfit. You don't want to ruin your drawing by picking clashing colors.
