In Greek mythology, Medusa is one of the three Gorgon sisters (the other two being Stheno and Euryale). Legends say that she has snakes for hair!     Medusa is a gorgon. She was originally human but then because she and Poseidon (Athena's rival) went into Athena's temple, Athena cursed her.
