    Expert Answer
You should be clear and considerate when you need to close a phone call. If it hasn't been mentioned that you're wrapping up the conversation, then begin by stating something such as, "I have to go now" or "I need to attend to something else." This signals that you are ready to end the call. For an informal call, you might add something like, "Take care. I look forward to talking to you again soon. Please give my regards to [someone]." This leaves a good note on the relationship and indicates further interest. In business settings, you might end by saying something like, "I look forward to speaking with you again and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day." This provides for both professional rapport and a positive close to your phone call.
