Try one of these reliable methods for queuing into a Fortnite bot lobby
Download Article
Are you trying to get into a bot lobby in Fortnite? Bot lobbies are exactly what they sound like—a lobby full of bots instead of other players. Some players like bot lobbies for completing quests, while others prefer it for a more relaxed Fortnite experience. No matter the reason, if you want to get into a bot lobby in Fortnite, keep reading to learn how.
Ways to Get Into a Fortnite Bot Lobby
- Make a new account on a second device, party up with your main account, and queue into a bot lobby for new players.
- Use a VPN to make Fortnite think you're in an area without many players so it gives you a bot lobby to facilitate matchmaking.
- Make a new Creative Mode Island map and add enemy AI spawners, such as creatures, wildlife, guards, and sentries.
Steps
-
Get a second device that can run Fortnite. The most reliable way to get into a bot lobby is by partying up with a brand-new, low-level account to spawn you into one. New Fortnite players are introduced to the game slowly, and the matchmaking system will automatically place new accounts into bot lobbies for practice.
- You can do this yourself if you have a second device running Fortnite, or you can ask a friend for help.
- You can use any combination of platforms to accomplish this. For example, if you play Fortnite on a Windows desktop, your second device could be a console (i.e., Playstation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch), iPhone, Android, a Mac, a Windows laptop, or even a second Windows desktop if you have one.
-
Download and install the Epic Games Store and/or Fortnite. If your second device is a Windows or Mac computer, you'll need to download the Epic Games Store before you can download Fortnite. On PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iPhone, you can just install Fortnite from your device's game or app store.Advertisement

Create a new Epic Games account on your second device. Don't link the new account to your main account, or this will prevent you from getting bot lobbies. If you need a refresher on creating an Epic Games account, check out this wikiHow article .
-
Add your alt account to a party with your main account. At this point, you should have two separate devices, each with their own account in a party together. If you plan on using this account to get into a lot of bot lobbies, you might want to consider adding the other account as a friend so you can find it easier.
-
Queue for a Build or No Build mode. Whether you pick Duos, Trios, or Squads doesn't matter. Make sure both accounts are ready so you can get into the lobby.
-
Back the alt account out of the lobby during the match start countdown. At the very latest, make sure the alt account backs out right as they spawn on the island. This is to prevent the account from getting levels and experience.
- Anecdotally, players have noticed that around level 5 is when accounts start getting placed into lobbies with real players. The exact criteria for transitioning a player from bot lobbies to real lobbies is unknown, though, so you may notice your alt account finding real player lobbies sooner or later than level 5.

Get a VPN service if you don't have one. You can sometimes get into bot lobbies with a VPN if you select certain VPN locations. However, you must have a VPN that can mask your location by connecting you to servers across the world.
- Some popular VPN services are ExpressVPN, NordVPN, SurfShark, ProtonVPN, CyberGhost, IPVanish, and more. Select the VPN that works best for you and your budget, and get it set up on your machine before continuing. Read this wikiHow article to learn how to set up a VPN.
-
Connect to a server in a different country. There are a few options you can choose from when looking for an ideal VPN server location for finding Fortnite bot lobbies:
- Pick a location with fewer Fortnite players. Countries in the Middle East, South America, and Oceania regions may have a smaller Fortnite player base, making them more likely to get bot lobbies to facilitate matchmaking.
- Pick a location where it's currently very late. When it's very late at night, you might be able to find Fortnite bot lobbies for the handful of players staying up late to game. You can use this to your advantage by picking a VPN server location in an area that's currently very late (around 3 to 5 a.m. would be a good starting point).
-
Launch Fortnite. If you're noticing high ping while on a VPN, open your Fortnite settings and navigate to Language and region , then set "Matchmaking Region" to either Auto or the region closest to where your VPN is connected.

Enter Fortnite Creative Mode. While it's not a traditional bot lobby, you can add some hostile AI to your Island map in Creative Mode.
- Note that these AI won't act like the bots in a bot lobby because they aren't supposed to act like players.
-
Access your Island via the portal in the hub. When you first enter Creative Mode, you'll be placed in the hub. Your Island map can be accessed by running over the glowing portal.
-
Open your Island map settings. How you do this depends on what platform you're on:
- Windows and Mac: The M key
- Playstation: The touchpad
- Xbox: The toggle view button (the small button to the left of the jewel button with an icon of two rectangles)
- Nintendo Switch: The minus (-) button
-
Go to Content . This menu includes all the objects you can add to your Island map.
-
Search for "enemy" in the search bar on the left. All objects with the "enemy" tag will be displayed. You can use these spawners and other tools to add various enemies to your map.
-
Add enemy AI to your map. Place the spawners on your map where you want the enemies to spawn.
- Before finishing your map, add some buildings and item spawners so you've got some weapons and hiding spots from the enemy AI.
-
Open the Creative menu and click Start Game . You'll instantly start a new game on your Creative Mode map. If you want to tweak your game settings, reopen the Island menu and go to the Island Settings menu.

Tips
- Previously, Fortnite allowed players to join lobbies with matchmaking bots. These bots would get you into a bot lobby and then disconnect. However, it seems Epic has banned matchmaking bots due to anecdotal evidence from Reddit users. [1] X Research source As such, any method of getting into a bot lobby by partying up with a matchmaking bot is outdated and no longer works. Thanks
