In the game Clash of Clans , builders are essential in building and upgrading your base. Generally, the maximum number of builders you can have is five, although getting a sixth builder through the Builder Base is possible. Previously, the sixth builder was the Master Builder, but with the introduction of Builder Base 2.0 [1] , the sixth builder is now named B.O.B and the requirements have changed.

Quick Steps

  1. Upgrade your Builder Hall to level 9 to build the B.O.B. Control.
  2. Level up your Town Hall to level 10.
  3. Gear up the Cannon, Archer Tower, and Mortar in your Home Village.
  4. Level up any of your troops to level 18.
  5. Upgrade your Builder Base Mortar to level 9.
  6. Level your Battle Machine and Battle Copter to 45 levels combined.
  7. Unlock the B.O.B's Hut and place it in your Home Village.

    This will unlock a new item, the B.O.B Control, which you should construct and place in your Builder Base. The B.O.B Control costs 100,000 Builder Gold.

    This will become available as soon as you reach Builder Hall level 9, although it won't do anything until upgraded and merely serves as a distraction defense-wise. The B.O.B Control has four tasks to complete to get the sixth builder in your Home Village. Though we've listed them in an order in this guide, you can complete them in any order:
    • Gear up three buildings in your Home Village
    • Upgrade any Builder Base troop to level 18
    • Upgrade any Builder Base defense to level 9
    • Upgrade your Builder Base heroes to a total level of 45

    To gear up buildings in your Home Base to upgrade your B.O.B Control, you'll need to get to Town Hall level 10.

    To do this, you'll need a level 4 Double Cannon, level 6 Archer Tower, and level 8 Multi-Mortar in your Builder Base. How to gear up each building in your Home Village by doing the following:
    • Cannon: To gear up a Cannon in the Home Village, it'll need to be at least Level 7, and your Double Cannon in the Builder Base needs to be at least Level 4. It costs 1.5 million gold.
    • Archer Tower: To gear up an Archer Tower in the Home Village, it'll need to be at least Level 10, and your Archer Tower in the Builder Base needs to be at least Level 6. It costs 4 million gold.
    • Mortar: To gear up a Mortar in the Home Village, it'll need to be at least Level 8, and your Multi-Mortar in the Builder Base needs to be at least Level 8. It costs 8 million gold.

    This requires getting your Star Laboratory to level 9. The two recommended troops are the Baby Dragons or the Power P.E.K.K.A. units.
    • The Baby Dragons are unlocked at an earlier level than the Power P.E.K.K.A., so they require more resources to upgrade. However, this unit is very popular in the Clash of Clans meta as you unlock them at Builder Hall level 4 and Builder Barracks level 6. [2]
    • If you go for the Power P.E.K.K.A., you'll need Builder Barracks level 10 and Builder Hall level 8. However, the Power P.E.K.K.A. is unlocked at level 13, so you'll need less resources to upgrade it to level 18. [3]

    The best option is to upgrade your Multi-Mortar one more time to level 9, as you had to upgrade it to level 8 for the gear up requirement.
    • Previously you could upgrade a single piece of wall to level 9 to fulfill this requirement, but this no longer works.

    There are two heroes—the Battle Machine and Battle Copter. The Battle Copter is unlocked at level 15. The most efficient way to reach the target of 45 combined levels is to level your Battle Machine to level 23 and your Battle Copter to level 22, but you can do any combination depending on what level your Battle Machine is currently at.
    • This is the most time-consuming step in getting the sixth builder. It's not recommended to level either of your heroes past level 25 for this step, however, to maximize efficiency.

    Once you fully upgrade your B.O.B Control in the Builder Base, you'll get an unplaced B.O.B's Hut in your Home Village. Place it to get your sixth permanent Home Village builder.

    The maximum level for the Mega Tesla is level 10, but this can only be achieved with Builder Hall level 10. You only need to get your Mega Tesla to level 9 to unlock the O.T.T.O. Hut.

    Your original builders will remain exactly the same, but you'll be able to place an additional builder hut (the Master Builder), that will function in the same way as traditional builders huts.
