Does Logitech G Hub get stuck on the loading screen when opening the program? You're not alone—this known bug has been affecting Logitech customers for many years on Windows 10 and 11 and might be related to updates. There are a few ways to fix the problem, and some options may work better than others for you, depending on your setup. This guide will teach you tested, working ways to fix Logitech G Hub not opening.
What To Do If Logitech G Hub Won't Open
Disconnect all Logitech gear and end G Hub tasks in Task Manager (G HUB, LGHUB, LGHUB Agent, and LGHUB Updater, if present). Stop the "LGHUB Updater" service, reconnect your gear, and reopen G Hub. If it opens, disable automatic updates. If not, try opening as an administrator.
Steps
End G HUB Tasks & Services
-
Disconnect any Logitech gear connected to G HUB. If G HUB won't open, you may be able to fix it by closing any running G HUB processes and then restarting the app. First, unplug any external Logitech webcams or other gear you use with G HUB.
-
2Press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + Esc . This keyboard shortcut opens Task Manager on Windows.Advertisement
-
3End all G HUB tasks. You'll usually find one or more G HUB processes in Task Manager, called G HUB, LGHUB, LGHUB Agent, and LGHUB Updater. Here's how to find and end these tasks:
- Windows 11: Type logi into the search bar at the top of Task Manager—this will filter the background processes to show any containing "Logi." The processes related to G HUB have the "G" icon beside them. Click each process, then click End task at the top.
- Windows 10: Click the Name column to sort the processes by name, then scroll to the "G Hub" ones. Click each G HUB process, then click End task at the bottom.
-
4Click the Services tab. It's in the left panel on Windows 11 and at the top on Windows 10.
-
5Right-click the "LGHUB Updater Service" and click Stop . This stops the LGHUB updater that runs in the background.
-
6Reconnect your Logitech gear and open G HUB. In many cases, this is all you'll need to do to get G HUB to reopen normally.
-
7Disable automatic updates. If this works, you may be able to fix the problem in the long term by disabling automatic updates. To do this in G Hub:
- Click the menu at the top-left and select Settings .
- Uncheck the box next to "Enable Automatic Updates."
Run G HUB as an Administrator
-
Find Logitech G HUB in the Windows menu. If G HUB still won't open, running the program as an administrator will often fix the problem. It'll be in the "L" section of your apps.
- Don't click G HUB to open it yet—just open the Windows menu and locate it in your app list.
-
2Right-click G HUB and select More > Run as administrator . When prompted, click Yes to confirm. This will usually prompt G HUB to open without hanging on the opening screen.
-
3Set G HUB to always run as an administrator. If running G HUB as an administrator got the program working again, you can make a quick change to make G HUB always run as an administrator. Here's how:
- Open File Explorer .
- Expand "This PC" in the left panel and select your main hard drive (whichever one G Hub is installed on).
- Double-click the Program Files folder.
- Double-click the LGHUB folder.
- Right-click lghub.exe and select Properties .
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Check the box next to Run this program as an administrator and click OK .
- You may need to repeat these steps for other applications in the folder, including lghub_agent.exe , lghub_updater.exe , and loghub_software_manager.exe .
Reinstall Without Losing Settings
-
Open Appwiz.cpl. You may be able to fix G HUB not opening using the "Change" option instead of "Uninstall" in Control Panel. To get started, type appwiz.cpl into the Windows Search bar and press Enter .
-
2Select "Logitech G HUB" and click the Change button. The button is above the list of applications.
- If prompted, click Yes to confirm.
-
3Select "Reinstall G HUB" and click REINSTALL . You'll be asked if you want to keep your settings.
-
4Check the box next to "Transfer my current settings" and click REINSTALL . This reinstalls G HUB without losing any of your settings. Hopefully, G Hub will open normally after this.
- If G HUB opens normally, you may be able to avoid the problem again by disabling updates. Click the menu in G HUB (don't select a device first), click Settings , and uncheck the box next to "Enable Automatic Updates."
- If this doesn’t, help, try a clean install .
Clean Install Without Updates
-
Uninstall Logitech G HUB. Another fix that tends to work is to uninstall G HUB, delete its leftover folder, reinstall, and then disable automatic updates. You will lose any custom G HUB settings in the process. To uninstall G HUB:
- Windows 11: Press the Windows key, click Settings , and go to Apps > Installed apps . Type g hub into the search bar to find Logitech G Hub. Click ••• next to "Logitech G HUB" and select Uninstall . When prompted, uncheck the "Save my current settings" box, then click Uninstall .
- Windows 10: Press the Windows key, click Settings , and go to Apps > Apps & features . Select "Logitech G HUB" and click Uninstall . [1] X Trustworthy Source Microsoft Support Technical support and product information from Microsoft. Go to source When prompted, uncheck the "Save my current settings" box, then click Uninstall .
-
2Open File Explorer. You can do this by pressing Windows key + E at the same time.
-
3Show hidden files and folders. To make sure you can find the folders and files you need, you'll need to turn this feature on:
- Windows 11:
- Go to View > Show and select Hidden items . [2] X Trustworthy Source Microsoft Support Technical support and product information from Microsoft. Go to source
- Windows 10:
- Click the View menu.
- Go to Options > Change folder and search options .
- Click the View tab' .
- Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and click OK .
-
4Delete any remaining G HUB files and folders. If you unchecked the "Save my current settings" box while uninstalling, you shouldn't have to do any of this. If you forgot or just want to make sure there's nothing left, here's how to check:
- Click This PC and navigate to C:\Program Files.
- If there's a folder called LGHUB, delete it.
- Now navigate to C:\Program Data.
- If there's a folder called LGHUB, delete it as well.
- Go to C:\Users and double-click your own username.
- Open the AppData folder. You should see three folders here—Local, LocalLow, and Roaming.
- Open each of these folders and look for subfolders called LGHUB. If you see them, delete them.
-
5Open the Registry Editor. To do this, type regedit into the Windows Search bar and press Enter . Now you'll just need to remove a registry key .
-
6Delete the LGHUB registry key. Here's how:
- Double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE .
- Double-click Software .
- Double-click Microsoft .
- Double-click Windows .
- Double-click CurrentVersion .
- Double-click Uninstall .
- Right-click the key called {521c89be-637f-4274-a840-baaf7460c2b2} and select Delete .
- Close the Registry Editor.
-
7Reboot your PC and reinstall G HUB. Don't skip the reboot; it's important. Once your PC comes back up, you can download the latest installer from https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/innovation/g-hub.html .
- To install, double-click the installer you downloaded and click Install . G HUB will start automatically once installed.
- You can click NO, THANKS if you don't want to provide device analytics, and Skip to skip any other options.
-
8Click the menu at the top-left. This expands several options in the left panel.
- Don't select your camera or another device.
-
9Click Settings . This displays G HUB settings that are separate from your camera settings.
-
10Uncheck the box next to "Enable Automatic Updates." It's at the top-right corner. This prevents G HUB from constantly scanning for updates, which could be the problem of the never-ending bug.
- You can click the back arrow to close out.
- Keep in mind that you will no longer get automatic updates. If a new feature comes out, you'll need to add the checkbox back to update, or just download and run the latest installer.
-
11Disable the LGHUB Updater Service in Windows Services (optional). Yes, you technically disabled automatic updates, but it's not that simple—the update service still runs in the background, which could still prevent G HUB from opening. If you run into trouble, here's how to turn off the update service:
- Type services.msc into the Windows search bar and press Enter .
- Right-click the LGHUB Updater Service and click Properties .
- Click the "Startup type" menu and select Disabled .
- Click the Stop button and then click OK .
Install Driver Updates
-
Open Windows Update. In some situations, a driver for one of your installed Logitech products may need an update. Logitech driver updates are usually released with Windows updates, so you may not need to check for updates in Device Manager. However, the updates you need might be hiding in "Optional Updates," a secret area of Windows Update you may not know about. To open Windows Update:
- Windows 11: Press the Windows key, click Settings , then click Windows Update in the left panel.
- Windows 10: Press the Windows key, click Settings , and go to Update & Security > Windows Update' .
-
2Click Advanced options (Windows 11 only). If you're using Windows 10, you can skip this step.
-
3Click Optional updates . Updates for devices and software installed on your PC that Microsoft didn't deem important can be found here.
-
4Install any optional updates. Check for optional updates in the "Driver updates" and "Other updates" sections and select the ones you want to install. Once you've selected the updates, click Download & install and follow the on-screen instructions to install them.
-
5Open Device Manager. Now, we can see if a more recent driver for your Logitech webcam or other product is available in Device Manager. There probably won't be any updates if you've updated Windows recently. Still, it's worth a try. Type device into the Search bar, then click Device Manager in the search results.
-
6Right-click your Logitech camera and select Update driver . Your camera will either be under "Cameras" or "Imaging devices." If an update is available, it will download and update automatically, and you'll see a message telling you the update will take effect after you restart your PC.
- If you have a different Logitech device you've connected to G HUB, update that driver as well.
-
Restart your PC. If you've updated any drivers, you'll want to restart before opening G HUB again. If G HUB wasn't opening because your drivers were out of date, this should resolve the issue.
