Want to play co-op in No Man's Sky? You can invite friends from other platforms as long as you add them first. Keep in mind the Switch version is not yet supported. Here's how to set up No Man's Sky crossplay and what to do if it's not working on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
Is No Man's Sky Crossplay?
You can play No Man's Sky with other platforms, including Steam on PC, Xbox, PS4, and PS5. Go into your Network settings to generate a Friend Code, and then share it with your friend. Add a Friend Code by selecting Add No Man's Sky Friend in the menu.
Steps

Starting Crossplay

Select Options . This is on No Man's Sky's homepage.
- To play No Man's Sky with a friend on a different platform, you can use a special generated Friend Code. [1] X Research source

Select Network . You can find this underneath Graphics Options .Advertisement

Select View No Man's Sky Friends List . This is towards the bottom of the screen.

Select Show My No Man's Sky Friend Code . This will generate a code to give your friend.
- If you want to add your friend, they must follow the above steps to generate their Friend Code.

Select Add No Man's Sky Friend . A new field will open.

Enter your friend's code. If you gave your friend your Friend Code, they'll need to enter it in the field.
- You may need to select OK to proceed.

Join a session. Once your friend is added, you'll see them underneath the No Man's Sky Friends header. To join their game, select their session in the menu.
- You must be in the same game mode, such as Normal, Survival, or Permadeath.
