The novelty of the Ramune drink is the bottle shape and the stopper. It comes in a variety of flavors, including strawberry, peach, and lychee. A glass marble acts as a unique cap, keeping the soda closed, and the liquid inside carbonated. When it's released the marble falls into a specially designed chamber. Sometimes the process of opening a bottle of Ramune can be messy, and leave your hands sticky. [1]

  1. (e.g. a table or a counter.) Preferably something that will not allow the bottle to slip out from under your hands.
  2. [2] Throw it into a trash receptacle.

  3. The hard plastic piece on top of the bottle separates in two - use your thumb to push out the center part (the plunger), separating it from the outer ring. Throw the outer ring into the trash.
  4. [3] Place the heel of the other hand on the plunger.
  5. Making sure to concentrate pressure in a solely downward direction, push forcefully on the plunger until the marble drops into the bottle. Do not release or change the direction of pressure. [4]
  6. Continue holding the plunger against the opening of the bottle for approximately 5 seconds, or until the pop has visibly settled.
  7. This will prevent it from stopping the flow of liquid.

  • Question
How do I close the bottle if needed?
    Community Answer
It doesn't have a cap, so the closest you can get to 'closing' it is saving the plunger and using that to plug it. You could also use a piece of saran wrap or tin foil to close the top.
  • Question
How do I take the marble out of the bottle?
    Community Answer
You don't. You just drink it with the marble in there; don't worry, you won't choke!
  • Question
I accidentally threw out the opening thing so how am I supposed to open it?

You may be able to put enough pressure on the marble with a digit to be able to release it. However, I would advise using a similarly shaped item (circular with a hollow centre) to replicate the bottle opener included with the pop.

      Warnings

      • Always be sure to push on the FLAT part of the push-tab. Pushing on the other side may cause damage to your hand, and will not displace the marble.
      • Don't stick your finger or tongue into the bottle in an attempt to remove the marble. It may get stuck!
      • Don't break open the bottle to remove the marble. You may cut yourself or someone else.
