Quick Steps
- Open your Fire TV Stick settings.
- Go to Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > TV > Change TV .
- Select Change TV again.
- Select Yes if the Fire TV Stick correctly identified your TV. If it didn't, select No , then pick your TV model.
- Turn off the TV with the Fire TV Stick remote, then turn it back on after 10 seconds.
- Allow the Fire TV Stick to update your remote to fix the volume control issue.

Open your Fire TV Stick settings. It's the gear icon at the top of the screen. -
Select Equipment Control . It's the option with the icon of a TV. It should be near the options for Notifications and Live TV .Advertisement -
Navigate to Manage Equipment > TV > Change TV . Select Change TV again to begin the process. -
Select Yes if your Fire TV Stick correctly identified your TV. If not, select No and select your TV's manufacturer from a list. -
Press the power button on your Fire TV Stick remote when prompted. If your TV turns off, wait 10 seconds and press the power button again to turn the TV back on, then select Yes when your Fire TV Stick asks if pressing the power button turned off your TV.- If it didn't turn off the TV, select No . If pressing the power button didn't turn off your TV, check out the troubleshooting section of this article.
- If you select Yes , your Fire TV Stick will begin updating the remote. Select OK once the update is completed. You will now be able to control your TV's volume with your Fire TV Stick remote.

Update your Fire TV Stick. If you can't get your Fire TV Stick to control the volume on your TV, first try updating the Fire TV Stick. [1] X Research source- Go to Settings > My Fire TV or Device & Software > About > Check for System Update .
- If there is an update available, download and install it. Then, try the steps above again.

Remove the TV from your Fire TV Stick, then add it back. Some users have found that removing their TV from their Fire TV Stick and then adding it back helped fix the volume issue.- Go to Equipment Control > Manage Equipment .
- Select your device, then select Change Receiver .
- Click the three-line menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select Remove this device?
- Once your TV is removed, add it back. Then, try the steps above again.

Factory reset your Fire TV Stick. If nothing else works, try factory resetting your Fire TV Stick. Before resetting, safely remove any expandable storage.- Press and hold the Back button and the right side of the navigation circle for 10 seconds.
- On the TV screen, choose Continue to move forward with the factory reset. Once the reset is complete, try the steps above again.
