  • Question
Do I need to use Swap Magic when playing copied PS2 games?

In the explained method, yes. However there are multiple ways like modchips or a hacked 8mb magicgate memory card with free mcboot which you can buy online or use an exploit with 007: agent under fire to swap into the installer.
  • Question
How can I play a PS2 game from a DVD?
    Community Answer
You have to put the game in question into your PC’s drive, copy it, convert to iso and use a program like imgburn to burn the ISO contents onto a dvd. DVD+\-RW’s wont work, only DVD+\-r’s will.
  • Question
Do I have to do this EVERY time I turn the ps2 on and off or just when I take a disk out?

Unfortunately, with this method you must swap each time to load a backup disc. However, mod chips or an official memory card hacked with a software called "FreeMCBoot" will allow you to bypass or ease the process of swapping entirely (at the cost of an added step, like installing the modchip, getting free MCBoot, and patching the ISO before burning).
  • Question
What about a Slim PS2? There are no screws or anything to open it with.
    Community Answer
There should be screws under the rubber boots on the bottom, and check under void warranty stickers for a screw as well.
  • Question
Is FreeMcBoot or Swap Magic easier to use when playing copied PS2 games?
    Community Answer
FreeMcBoot is probably the easiest method out there. You'll need a hacked memory card.
