Crayons that become blunt can be refashioned into a sharper point again easily with a little hot water. Here is how.
Steps
-
Dip the blunt crayon end into a bowl of hot water. Leave it for a few minutes. If you don't fancy holding it in place, tie it to a piece of string which ties onto a pencil. Place two piles of books either side of the bowl and rest the pencil across the books, with the crayon string dangling into the bowl just far enough that the tip only is in the hot water.

Shape the tip back again with your fingers.

Get a knife and crayon. The knife doesn't have to be super sharp -- a butter knife will do.
-
Glide the knife on the tip of the crayon, going back and forth. Be careful not to hurt yourself!
- Cutting from the base of the crayon to the tip is easiest, though you can also try working from side to side.
