Congratulations, you just sold your first item on eBay! Now, it's time to send it out to the buyer. Shipping is critical for your eBay business, as it's important your buyer receives the item undamaged and with a professional appearance. Items that get damaged in shipping can be a pain to resolve, as you'll likely need to raise a claim with your delivery service, return the item from the buyer, and other procedures that can damage your eBay rankings.

  1. Pack your item so that it won't rattle or break, depending on what you are shipping, for example if you sold a fragile piece of ceramic or glass you would need bubble wrap and Styrofoam.
  2. If you have PayPal, after you make the sale log in to your PayPal account and go to account history you will see the payment you received from the buyer a few columns to the right it will say "Print Shipping Label" - when you click that, it will bring you to a screen where you confirm the address, the weight dimensions and the service you would like to ship with and then they prompt you to print the label.

  3. You may want to use old newspaper for the packing. Close it and see if anything rattles when shaken. Very nicely use clear packing tape, found everywhere basically, and seal all open ends. Good luck!

What do I ship the items in?
    Community Answer
You can use a regular cardboard box. (They will sell them at any UPS/FedEx store around you if you don't have any.)
  • Question
How do I confirm on eBay that I have shipped the item?
    Community Answer
When you go into the app, you will see the item that you were selling. When you click on it, it will give you options to cancel shipment, contact buyer, pay or click on Shipped.
  • Question
If I print a label, do I need stamps as well?
    Community Answer
No, not usually. The label is a replacement for the stamps. However, on the rare occasion you might need to add more stamps, ask your local post office.
