Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an important security feature that ensures your account is safe, even if someone has your password. If you're tired of the inconvenience or aren't getting your verification codes, you may want to turn 2FA off. Disabling Two-Factor Authentication on a Samsung Galaxy
Samsung no longer allows you to disable 2FA for your Samsung account. This is to protect your privacy and personal information. However, you can change the phone number, authentication app, or device used to retrieve 2FA codes, and you can also disable 2FA for your Google account.

Managing 2FA Settings for Samsung

Open the Settings menu. To do so, swipe down from the top of the screen to open your Quick Access menu, then tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner.

Tap your name at the top of the Settings menu.

Tap Security and privacy . It's the sixth option in the "Samsung Account" menu.

Tap Two-Step Verification . It's the third option in the "Security and privacy" menu.

Enter your password. You'll need to enter your Samsung account password to change your 2FA settings.

Add and remove a phone number. You must have one phone number on your account at all times. If you want to change the phone number on which you receive two-factor authentication codes:
- To add a new phone number:
- Tap Text message' at the top and select Add .
- Enter your new phone number and tap Send Code .
- Enter the verification code sent to your new number into the "Enter code" field.

- You can register up to three numbers.
- To remove a phone number:
- After adding a new phone number, tap Text message .
- Tap the icon with three dots ( â‹® ) in the upper-right corner.
- Tap Delete .
- Select the number you want to delete and tap Delete .

Enable or disable a device. If you want to enable or disable a trusted device, tap Galaxy device notification , and tap the toggle switch next to the devices you want to enable or disable.

Set up an authentication app. If you want to use an authentication app for two-factor authentication:
- Tap Authenticator app .
- Tap Use Microsoft Authenticator or tap Use another authenticator app .
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your authenticator app.
- Tap the toggle switch next to Authenticator app .

Get or save your backup codes. If you ever lose access to your Samsung phone or tablet, it will be helpful to have access to your 2FA backup codes so you can get back into your Samsung account. Retrieve your backup codes in advance and save them somewhere safe so you don't lose them.
