What makes someone a Chad?

What does “Chad” mean? “Chad” is a slang term that’s had a few different definitions over the years. It originated as a derogatory term used to describe frat-type guys who are loud, attractive, and probably don’t treat women very well, but who paradoxically still get all the women they want. Recently, though the word’s definition has swung in the opposite direction. Now, it’s often used more as a joke to describe someone who’s confident, charming, and admirable, usually in contrast to someone who’s not those things. Of course, what exactly makes someone “admirable” depends on who’s using the word “Chad,” and that’s part of what makes it such a complicated word.

Generally, though, Chads have these qualities:

Confidence
Every Chad is brimming with confidence, whether or not they’ve earned it. It’s the trademark quality, the calling card. Chads walk around like they own the world. Doors open for them automatically, and strangers pay for their food. There’s an undeniable swagger about them that some people find annoying, but other people find admirable, or both. It all depends on how you’re using the word.

Rizz
Right up there next to confidence is charisma. They’re kinda like 2 sides of the same coin. A Chad has rizz because they’re confident, and they’re confident because they have rizz . The joke about Chads is that they can get with any person they want. This is sometimes at odds with the idea that they’re annoying, but hey, Chads contain multitudes.

Motivation
We gotta hand this one to the Chads. They’re nothing if not motivated. Usually, that motivation manifests in the gym, as they work diligently on their gains and bulking up their mass before cutting it with cardio for a rippin’ bod. And not to mention all the dieting and other health stuff they get into.

Luck Everything else about a Chad falls under the umbrella of plain stupid good luck. Chads are often wealthy, or uber-hot, or have opportunities other people don’t. Usually, they’ve got rich parents, which kind of explains everything else.
