Want to use GIFs on your PowerPoint presentation? Similar to adding imagers, you can easily insert GIFs from your computer or from the web. Keep in mind you can only add and view GIFs in PowerPoint on desktop; this won't work on mobile. Here's how to insert GIFs into PowerPoint using your Windows or Mac computer.

Adding a GIF to a PowerPoint Slide

To insert GIFs into PowerPoint, click the Insert tab and click Pictures . Click This Device to browse your computer. Select the GIF, and then click Insert .

  1. You can select the slide you want to insert the GIF to from the slide panel on the left side of your screen.
    • The GIF you insert into your PowerPoint cannot be played on the mobile app or mobile web browser on Android or iOS. You'll only see the animation when viewing the presentation on a computer.
  2. 2
Click the Insert tab. You’ll find this in the ribbon above your slide or in the ribbon along the top of your screen. [1]
