I’m wondering, are articles chosen as rising stars or to be featured by the title? I’m thinking it should be the instructions that tell about the article in how to accomplish a task. Which is it?

I personally have never chosen an article as a rising star because of its title - it’s always been about the content.
I have to echo @Maluniu
. When I’m boosting articles, I sometimes come across one with a title I like. However, it’s not the title that matters; it’s the content that counts. If the content is helpful, but just needs editing, I edit it to meet the criteria in How to Visually Recognize a Rising Star Article on wikiHow
, and then select the article as a Rising Star. On the other hand, there are times where the title can be interesting, but there isn’t enough information in the article, so it would not meet Rising Star criteria. As for featured articles, they are scheduled by Krystle
, wikiHow’s community manager/support person, or Flickety
. A featured article, however, must be of wikiHow’s very best work
.

Thanks, I mostly wondering about the rising stars.
No problem! Do you need any more information to answer your question?
Here are some reasons for articles to be chosen: Title: Depends whether it is a duplicate or not Content: Does not violate the wikiHow policies, explains nicely how a task is accomplished. Pictures: WikiPhotos work best Number of views: Many views

Allow me to point out that just because an article does not violate the wikiHow policies, doesn’t mean that it qualifies as a rising star. Rising stars do not require many views, since they are newarticles, and in most cases, do not have more than a hundred views. Rising stars do not require wikiPhotos, and will most likely not have them, since they are new. An article with no photos can also be chosen as a rising star, if the content is good. The title is also not an important factor, since Boosters can change titles to suit the article. I select rising stars both ways. If I feel the article has an interesting title, or teaches you how to accomplish something good, or relevant to the time, I improve the content to reach RS standards, and then select it as a rising star. An example of such a boost can be found here: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Help-the-Uttarakhand-Flood-Victims&diff=11830698&oldid=11828830
Second, if I feel that an article has great content, but doesn’t have a good title, I change the title, and then select it as a rising star. If the article has good content and a good title, I improve it however I can and then select it as a rising star. RS standards vary from booster to booster, and what I feel does not qualify as a rising star may qualify under the eyes of some other booster, or vice versa. However, a generalised set of RS standards can be found here: http://www.wikihow.com/Visually-Recognise-a-Rising-Star-Article-on-wikiHow
