When I asked for feedback about the Community Achievements post a couple of weeks ago, lots of you let me know that you do enjoy reading the posts weekly. However, verrrry few people open more than a couple of the diffs; many were honest that they don’t open any. That’s okay! But it’s just good for me to know so I can explore ways to make the posts more meaningful for you all, within the time I have for them.

While a couple of people didn’t like the new/experimental format, many did. Several folks let me know they actually looked at the diffs and reflected on the changes more this way… so it seems worth exploring this format a bit more.

This week I tried to push the boundary on how the number/diversity of edits that stood out. I won’t always be able to feature this many, but this’ll serve as an example of what this kind of format might look like, at its *max*.

  • Katherine heeded the call when asked to share her expertise from her fort-building hobby on this topic. She added some details you’d really only know from personal experience, and made the page better for all nature-lovers.

  • Captain-Giraffe took the opportunity when reading this article for personal knowledge to improve it. Rather than just getting the info he needed and moving on, he got to work streamlining and copyediting the Tips and Warnings, leaving it better than he found it.

  • Mzm didn’t stop when this latest article he started was promoted live- he went back to it to add some new helpful Tips and Warnings from his professional experience. Great to see it growing more already!

Her edits helped flesh out the previous suggestions and offer readers some concrete alternative snacking suggestions.

  • This edit shows some fab wiki-style collaboration between @Byankno1 and @Donagan - Byankno1 has contributed tons of Disney knowledge to this topic over the years, and Donagan shares his enthusiasm for the parks so chipped in here to add his two cents of advice and contribute his ideas for organization/flow of the topic. Even after the main edit, more discussion, collaboration, and follow-up tweaks show great teamwork on this one:slight_smile:

Donno yet, I pick at random at the time when I put the posts together - otherwise it might just start a flood of folks to one particular tool so that they’ll get mentioned, which isn’t really the goal. It’s more about bringing a bit of attention to the wikiGnomes out there who are making helpful tool contributions all over the place every week, so picking one at random at week’s end hopefully reaches that end goal better:slight_smile:
