The template image for {{illustrations}}
is really tiny.

Hi there, @Batreeq
. We have the {{ pictures
}} template that probably accomplishes what we’re looking for more so than {{illustrations}}. Since the illustrations template has minimal usage, I wonder if we should just retire that template and use the pictures template instead.
I’ll move this to the Village Pump to see if anyone else has thoughts one way or another.

The image issue itself is related to its size, I think - really big images don’t work in the templates, it seems. I found a public domain icon that was smaller and placed that in, instead, and it looks okay (totally fine if someone wants to use a different simple icon there - mostly, I was just testing).
All that being said, yeah, personally no objection to using {{pictures}} instead! I’ve always found a little messy that we have several different wordings, really.
Looks great! Thanks Anna.
{{pictures}} are more advise-able
In my viewpoint, I don’t feel we really need two different ways to say “images”. We have a {{pictures}} and an {{illustrations}} template, but I do feel that now that most pictures tend to turn into drawn illustrations, they generally mean the same thing now. I think @Eric
said things best here. I don’t however feel that we can link all of these three “fix-it” templates together with that of {{screenshots}} as screenshots is wholly another ball of wax altogether.

- Maybe the {{illustrations}} template could be placed into the screenshots template like this: {{pictures|type=screenshots}}
No. In my viewpoint, the illustrations template should be merged/changed to become the pictures template, while screenshots should be left the way it is.
@Byankno1
- Sorry, a typo. I meant the following:
“Maybe the {{illustrations}} template could be placed into the screenshots template like this: {{pictures|type=illustrations}}”

My two cents would be that we probably don’t need to drill down the pictures template to be so specific that it requires you to state whether you want illustrations or pictures, especially since the two terms could often be interchanged. I think we could retire the illustrations template and replace it with the pictures template (without requiring a type) and also leave the screenshots template.
I think this is also what your thoughts are, @Byankno1
?
@Eric
I wholeheartedly agree. That’s exactly what I’d like to happen.
@Eric
and @Byankno1
- Ok, sounds good.
