I don’t know why it’s only happening on my mobile browser. But every so often without my knowledge, I"ll keep getting logged out. I’m using the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser on iOS 16.0.2 (running the latest build of the app) and am logged into my Microsoft Account in the app. But it keeps logging me out what seems like every-other-day. (One time, it logged me out twice in one day.) It’s not happening for any other website.

This has been happening for at least the last 2 weeks, and because I keep getting logged out of the main site, it also logs me out of the forums - briefly.

Anyone else experiencing these issues?

yes but mine doesnt log me out it just turns my screen black and then comes back on

No issues here, but I’m using the latest Chrome with the latest iOS. Do you possibly have something set to clear your cookies/cache upon closing your Edge browser?

I dont clear cookies or cache - ever.

I use the Firefox iOS app, and I have this issue sometimes as well. Occasionally find I’ve been logged out and have to log in again, not that big of a deal, since I’ve got my details saved, but could have something to do with cookies or ad/tracker blocking settings, but I don’t remember setting anything up to clear cookies regularly or anything like that.

It does sound like it might be a browser-specific thing rather than a wikiHow thing - I see this on the Microsoft support site that might (or might not) be helpful.

Still seeing this bug. Just reset my web token to see if that might fix it.

That didn’t fix it. Nor did setting an exception to my mobile adblocker for www.wikihow.com .

Found my username/password stored on my brother’s older PC - even though he had it fixed and the harddrive changed last year. I removed that listing. I highly doubt turning off my mobile ad-blocker will help much, if at all. I need to run it for other websites I sometimes visit.

I know at one point I turned off a tracking cookie to Doubleclick on my PC’s browser extension, but that same extension doesn’t run in my mobile browser - because my mobile browser doesn’t use extensions except that Adblock tool held and run by Microsoft - the web browser’s company for my operating system.

Ive tried several things but still no full fix. Theres a workaround but it is a bit time consuming. Ive noticed that if i give the login site a few additional seconds to login, it seems to log me back in without having to actually log myself back in. But I’m still tempted to log back in with the login page because sometimes this length of time is longer than other times and it may take up to 6 page refreshes over mobile to get back in without logging in via the login page and because this happens at least 4-5 times per day, is a bit unnerving to me.

Such a mystery, but I do think it’s likely a browser thing over a wikiHow thing, as it’s not happening to others. Sorry that we can’t help you troubleshoot this one further, Christopher!
