With the new “update” that happened while I was away, the message/notification button changed. Is there any possible way of “closing” them once I have actually looked at the message? There is no X button to close it like before.

Hey Leah! You can read a bit more about the new notifications here
. As is, the last 5 notifications stay in that menu, for easy access. We’ve heard some folks don’t really like it, though, so I did file a bug report for the engineers to take a look and see if they can change it. I’m not totally certain how possible that is with the Echo setup, but if we can adjust it so they can be “x”-ed out, we’ll let everyone know!
Thanks! At first I was really confused on how that worked!
@Anna
- one more things: Did the thumbs up button get removed in Patrolling recent changes?

Hmmm @LeahlovesGod
nope shouldn’t be! It’s not available on every edit (for example, Talks, Discussion, wikiHow namespace), though – was it missing from somewhere it should be?
Yes, there was a good edit a user made to an article and I was going to give them a thumbs up but the button wasn’t there. That has happened a few times recently. Other times in the past, the illustration of the thumbs up is missing but the button was there.

Hmmm, okay. It might be due to a combination of edits - I think I’ve seen that happen sometimes, but it’s hard to pin down. Next time can you snap a screenshot? That’d be really helpful - I’ll keep an eye out too. Thanks Leah!
It is working fine now… It just seems to happen every once in a while. Thanks for your help!

I also have a question. How do we remove notifications?
We cant. That’s the problem.
