When you open up an articles states, which is accessible under the edit tab on articles, it has a # of sources listing. But, this number tends to be wrong. I looked at some random articles, and I noticed that the number was sometimes higher, and sometimes lower. Sometimes it is off by a large amount. For example, on How to Contact Florida’s Governor
, the stats page
says that the article has 30 sources. But in reality, there are only 17.
If I had to guess what the issue was, I would say that it appears to be counting all unique external links, not just reference links.

That seems like a logical suggestion for why the number might be off @R2_d2000
. I’ll make a note of this for a rainy day fix.
