In RC app, when there are two contiguous bad edits happen, the patroller just reverts the recent edits and can’t catch the previous vandalism. Though there is written that the edit was made by “Vandal and others”, but we just revert it and don’t want to check the previous. This was just happened to me in one featured article Do Nail Art
while patrolling. But I also put it as “Patrolled”, but I didn’t know what came to my mind, I just clicked on “<-” and went to history and saw the previous vandalism and corrected that. Here I want to say, "How we deal with this problem? Do we have to check history page of every articles those are edited by “— and others”? Please give your suggestions.

This has happened before and I had to manually check the page history to revert the malicious edits. Next time this happens I will post a link.

Possibly suitable for Bug Reports though…
It is. Be wary of rolling back an Anon edit to another Anon edit.
In this specific case, I don’t think we have a bug for RC patrol. It looks like this vandalism edit: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Do-Nail-Art&diff=6200081&oldid=6183834
was actually patrolled in by a good faith patroller by accident 2 days before IamSH rolled back the subsequent 2nd set of vandalism. So in this case, the problem was patroller error on the initial patroller. But Dave’s advice still stands as good advice. Be wary when rolling back to an anon. It’s often worth a check on page history before you do it.

This is related to one of my gripes about the specialRC tool, since edits are grouped, you take a chance rolling back a good edit with a bad, and I have lost count of the times I have seen quickmessages directed at the wrong person. Still, it has been discussed, and there is no doubt the new system is more efficient, and as patrollers get used to it, more user-friendly as far as the buttons go. It is probably not in line with the ''assume good faith" policy, but I check any history if the previous edit is less than a few days old if it reverts to an anonymous user, and almost as often as not, I see a good contribution by the previous anon.

This issue doesn’t occur in the normal way of RC Patrol to my knowledge… @JackHerrick
I thought this should be a “bug” since it is a minor incovenience to group edits together
It’s not a bug. It’s a design decision.
New RC patrol was designed to always show you last patrolled edit on left, and current version on the right, regardless of how many editors there have been inbetween. By grouping edits together it speeds up RC and for the most part
reduces bad edits slipping through. The “old RC” system which only shows you one author’s edit’s at a time has other faults. The main one being that vandalism edits get sandwiched behind good edits. When all we had was old RC, we frequently patrolled in the vandalism since it was too hard for people to see the current version of the article. All in all, I think bad edits getting patrolled into wikiHow has declined since more folks have started using new RC patrol.

Bunch Patrol = < 3 Let’s me see all the consecutive edits a user has made to a specific article… VERY helpful for catching trolls.
