While recently using the Embed Video link to add videos for articles, I’ve been noticing a problem. Although most articles have videos that have no problems, I have found several problems with those that need videos and the best videos is that of the ones of Howcast. From the YouTube tab, it says that it is not able to be embedded. When transferring over to the Howcast tab, it says there are no videos found. If you change the name to become exactly what the title was of the Howcast video found on YouTube tab, it still says no videos found. The next time I come across this problem, I’ll screencast this. Sorry for this delay. I do like this method a lot better(being able to pick from many others is a good thing-as compared to new where the video it requests to add is some music video which 99% of time isn’t anywheres close to how-to appropriate.) this app can be found at: http://www.wikihow.com/Special:Importvideo

I don’t think this is a bug that we can do anything about. I don’t believe that Howcast makes their videos embeddable via YouTube, and we cannot control the effectiveness of their search.

I’m consistently looking for ones tonight. However, a few hours after I submitted this issue, I went on the hunt for at least one example. And now, it seems I can’t find a representative example. I may be looking in the wrong area. I’ll try again in a few days(maybe on weekend) ON a related note, if I just called this “app” the Embed Video" app, would people realize that the link I’m talking about was the “Special:importvideo” and not confuse it with the Video Adder from the Dashboard?

I know it already had a good video, but heres an example of what I mean. The Howcast video could have been a good choice, but it’s just not coming up when searching. We had several other issues with another list too, a bunch of months back(Video Jug not picking up any videos), here’s just one example of this list not picking up the intended video, even by title for the Howcast tab: http://screencast.com/t/5mDLAvgAH

The Howcast has an official channel on YouTube, which would probably explain why you are seeing their videos on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/user/Howcast

That’s not the issue here. It always says these videos can’t be embedded from this tab and when you see if you can embed them from their own howcast tab, they’re not embed able there either!

They have some really good videos, but not being able to embed there’s really puts a damper on things.
