I’m operating on 10.5 mac osx with FF 3. When I started a new article I found that when adding related wikiHows it added them with the “how to” bit in the link as shown in this revision: http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Make-a-DIY-Sleeping-Cap&oldid=5638120 Therefore making them red links. I don’t know if this is a new or old problem but I didn’t see any immediate posts. Also when I saved my TYN above the steps and below the intro (personal preference) in advanced editing, it booted it back down below the tips and warnings, when it switched to guided editing automatically. Also in the new article script there isn’t a way to add other sections or categories. Just found that hindersome to go back in and add those later.

P.S. Is there any way to circumvent the new article thingy. Thanks in advance for advice/help!

@Whimaway Wow, that’s really weird. Let me clarify what happened, so I can try to recreate this: You created the article with the visual editor - aka new article thingy:slight_smile:Then you edited the page. Was that with guided editor or advanced editor? And you made all of the edits here except for stripping the related wikiHows of their formatting? When you categorized the page here did you use guided edit or advanced editor? All you did here yourself is add tips, correct?

Yes. When you start a new article, click the “edit wikitext” link to the upper right of the editing area. That will put you in advanced editor.

@Krystle Thanks it was really weird! Yes I created the article with the visual editor. I’m pretty sure I edited with the guided editor at first. It started out with the related wikihows as just plain text when I saved after the visual editor. When I went in and saved after guided editing, the wiki links were added to the relateds (not by me). I categorized and added ONLY tips with the guided editor. The revision history is weird…

Ok, I’ll work on trying to recreate this and ask an engineer to check out the revision history in case there’s a bug that can be uncovered in retrospect:slight_smile:

Thanks:slight_smile:
